Nobles County Makes Budget Information Accessible and Transparent

Nobles County, located in the southwest corner of Minnesota, is home to a rural farming community that spans eleven small cities made up of a combined 20,000 residents. Local agriculture, meat processing, and manufacturing industries draw thousands of immigrant workers to the area, making it one of the most diverse regions of rural Minnesota.

Nobles County administrators oversee a $27M annual budget, the majority of which is allocated toward highway maintenance, public safety and human services. The county partnered with OpenGov to make revenue and spending data more transparent, provide commissioners round-the-clock access to budget information, and to enhance financial reporting.
