2024 VLGMA Winter Conference Details
The 2024 VLGMA Winter Conference is scheduled for February 14-16 at the Hotel Roanoke. This year’s conference theme is “No One Walks Alone.”
The Hotel Roanoke, aka the Grand Dame of the Roanoke Valley, is hosting this year’s conference! With over a century of history and a walkable location accessible to everything Downtown Roanoke has to offer, it is no wonder that Hotel Roanoke is one of the premier venues in all Southwest Virginia.

The 2024 VLGMA conference, you’ll get three days of quality educational programming, networking, and professional development. You can view more information here.
The conference will kick off Wednesday afternoon with a session on ethics, though this session promises to be different than any ethics session you may have attended in the past. It will feature a panel of former and current local government executives discussing ethical challenges that they have faced or issues that many city managers often experience in their role.
Thursday will feature two panels highlighting the diversity of thought, leadership, and representation found throughout local government organizations.

The Virginia Local Government Management Association (VLGMA) is a non-profit, non-partisan organization composed primarily of city, town, and county managers and key members of their management teams. Membership in the organization is offered on an individual and organizational basis. The primary goal of the association is to strengthen the quality of local government through professional management. The association seeks to promote professional management in a variety of ways including training, networking, and resource sharing.
