City of Vestavia Hills, Alabama, Fulfills Cloud-first Strategy with OpenGov Partnership

The City of Vestavia Hills, AL, has partnered with OpenGov, the leader in modern cloud ERP software for our nation’s cities, counties, and state agencies, to deliver a digital permitting solution that fulfills the City’s cloud-first strategy.

Vestavia Hills’ City Manager and other leaders were on the hunt for a robust solution that would digitize their permitting processes and help launch virtual inspections. The City had been using two different versions of a permitting process platform, which caused a major disconnect. What’s more, the complicated permitting process dissuaded citizens from using it. Leaders found the answer to their problems in OpenGov Citizen Services.

OpenGov Citizen Services is an all-in-one digital permitting and virtual inspection software. City staff will now streamline workflows and permitting approvals that flow electronically through the review process. No longer having to deal with a complex platform, citizens will enjoy the self-service portal through which they can draft, submit, and pay for needed permits and licenses. Finally, OpenGov’s solution improves the City’s inspection process with a scheduling portal for applicants. During an inspection, contractors and City staff can review results and photos in real time. Finally, the ability to track performance checks another box on the City’s must-have list. Under the old process, City leaders struggled to monitor performance. Now, they have access to reports that track revenue, application numbers, project costs, and more.

The City of Vestavia Hills joins more than 1,000 public sector organizations leveraging OpenGov to revolutionize work processes with cloud-based software designed specifically for the needs of government.
