Hernando County, Florida, to Transform Processes with Online Procurement Software Partner, OpenGov

Looking to transform their procurement process, Hernando County, FL, officials partnered with OpenGov, the leader in modern cloud software for our nation’s cities, for online procurement software.

After investing in OpenGov Budgeting & Planning in 2021, officials from the County, located along the Gulf of Mexico north of Tampa, looked to upgrade procurement processes, as well. Using OpenGov Procurement, officials plan to heighten budget accountability, increase supplier diversity, and enhance vendor experience.

With OpenGov Procurement, County staff will be able to:

  • Increase accountability with one source of truth—a simplified view into contract and vendor spend. With one, online platform, the County’s RFxs will be accessible throughout multiple departments.
  • Provide vendors and suppliers with an easy-to-use tool that guides them through a submission process. By simplifying the process, the County will likely receive more bid submissions from a broader range of vendors.
  • Engage vendors and other external stakeholders in a collaborative procurement process. Using the online portal, vendors can respond to staff’s questions in real-time. That eliminates the need for time-consuming back-and-forth email or voicemail conversations.
