Mount Vernon, New York, OpenGov Partner on Government Budgeting, Digital Permitting Software
The City of Mount Vernon, NY, has partnered with OpenGov, the leader in modern cloud ERP software for our nation’s cities, counties, and state agencies, to modernize its government budgeting and digital permitting processes with OpenGov Budgeting & Planning and OpenGov Citizen Services.
The City of Mount Vernon, located just north of New York City, welcomed a new Mayor and Comptroller who were looking to promote civic engagement, transparency, accountability, and efficiency throughout City departments.
City leaders partnered with OpenGov on a two-pronged approach: streamlining the budgeting process with OpenGov Budgeting & Planning and increasing efficiency across permitting and licensing with OpenGov Citizen Services. OpenGov Budgeting & Planning will enable collaboration across departments by allowing them to send and receive budget proposals in addition to giving leaders the ability to engage the community and be more transparent in how tax dollars are spent. With OpenGov Citizen Services, the City will improve customer satisfaction by enabling residents to apply for permits and licenses online in a single portal. City leaders are especially excited to demonstrate the software’s capabilities as it completes a $24.9 million renovation to Memorial Field. Leaders plan to highlight construction progress using OpenGov Stories, a module of OpenGov Reporting & Transparency.
