Sonoma County, California, OpenGov Partner on Customer-focused Digital Permitting Solution
Thanks to a partnership between Sonoma, CA, and OpenGov, the leader in modern cloud ERP software for our nation’s cities, the County now has a customer-centric, innovative approach to digital permitting.
Leaders from the County, located in the heart of California’s wine country, sought to modernize their end-to-end permitting processes and provide residents with an intuitive online portal. After reviewing seven vendors, officials found what they needed in OpenGov Citizen Services.
With OpenGov Citizen Services, the County will be able to expedite permit approvals using a streamlined workflow that automatically takes submissions through departmental reviews, assigning tasks to the next available staff member. A progress meter records each step so staff can easily—and visually—track applications. For residents, the online portal makes applying for a permit easy. They just complete an introductory questionnaire that helps them determine needed forms and fees. They can draft and submit applications, pay fees, and message County staff through the online portal.
The Sonoma County joins more than 1,000 public sector organizations leveraging OpenGov to revolutionize work processes with cloud-based software designed specifically for the needs of government.
