OpenGov, a provider of open data and service improvement tools for government has partnered with Workiva a provider of cloud services on a budgeting solution for state and local governments.
The partnership will pair OpenGov Budget Builder and OpenGov Intelligence with Workiva’s Wdesk, which provides governments the ability to link their data into a centralized repository and create reports. OpenGov will offer Wdesk as part of its complete cloud-based budgeting solution. The joint offering will also help governments create Comprehensive Annual Financial Reports (CAFR) reports, quarterly management reports and other related documents.
By integrating Wdesk, OpenGov’s Budget Builder will have permissioning so that administrators can control access at all levels so that each user can create, edit and review data and documents that relate directly to them.
The integrated platform will be available to both new OpenGov users and the company’s existing subscriber base.
As CivSource reported in December, OpenGov recently rolled out its budget builder tool to general availability after a beta testing round. Jackson County, Georgia’s Water and Sewerage Authority was one of the first government entities to adopt the tool after being part of the beta group.
More than 20 other local governments including Harford County, Maryland; Long Beach, New York; and Culpeper, VA were also named in the launch as part of a group that will be implementing budget builder over the next budgeting cycle.
